MA Partners rebranded the project as Schaffer’s Mill (based on a historic local name) and battled uphill against the prejudices created by the former owner to procure the required entitlements and move the community forward. MA Partners initiated homebuilding operations in order to control the timely delivery of a mountain lodge product to the end user. MA Partners collaborated with two successful organizations, Blue Star Golf and Red Earth to provide expertise in golf course operations and sales and marketing. Sales have gained tremendous momentum and prices for single-family lots have exceeded expectations. The club has moved from semi-public to private. HGTV selected the community for their 2014 Dream Home Give Away. Timilick (the previous name of the community) and all the negative connotations it carried are gone, and Schaffer’s Mill is a vibrant, highly desired, and successful golf course community.
